[personal profile] jackluminous posting in [community profile] twowholecakes
My name is Jack and I'm the moderator of [community profile] twowholecakes. Shamefully, I let this community sit lawless and quiet for far too long. I'd like to start promoting it a bit more, but before I do, I've got a few questions/issues.

1. Apart from "don't be a troll" and "this is not a weight loss community", are there any rules or guidelines you think are important for a community like this?

2. Fat acceptance is strongly rooted in feminism, and I feel a bit odd being a dude moderating a FA community on his own. Hence, I'd like to share modding with a female-identifed co-mod. Any volunteers?

Thanks a lot. :)

1. Probably want to have a rule about cutting and warning for potentially triggering content, especially given that FA deals in intersectional issues as well. I would personally love a "fat talk free zone" rule, but I imagine that would be hard to deal with since we all also have our bad days. And the userinfo should definitely have some links to the basics on what FA and HAES is about since so many people have no clue. And that we shouldn't divide into good fat/bad fat talk like half the community seems to do on a given day. A person who wants to go ahead and have those donuts for breakfast shouldn't have to take crap any more than the person who eats granola and yogurt.

2. Do volunteers get large hammers and spiffy hats?

Your icon is awesome. I LOVE IT.

Maybe we should make everyone happy & invent granola yogurt donuts.

1) I wish those were the only 2 guidelines for life. :D

2) I'll volunteer, although I would like to say that I think it's awesome to see a dude modding an FA community. Rooted in feminism, yes, but definitely not limited to. Good on you!
